‘The Art of Fine Dining’© an online dining etiquette seminar with international courtesies

Alice Thomas-Roberts, a former Chief of Protocol and former Senior Foreign Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host ‘The Art of Fine Dining©’ on Thursday 4th December, 2025 from 6:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m.
‘The Art of Fine Dining©’ will be based on Western dining etiquette with references to dining dos and don’ts in other cultures. As Presenter, Alice will provide tips, guidelines and explanations on various aspects of dining etiquette from the moment a guest arrives at a restaurant or someone’s home, to the time of departure.
This seminar will help you feel more confident as you prepare for your upcoming year end staff party or formal holiday dinners. Those who travel abroad for meetings and conferences, and those who attend or host business meals will find this seminar very useful.
After this seminar, attendees will feel more comfortable and confident at any formal dining occasion while observing acceptable etiquette, whether at home or abroad.
Seminar subtopics will include: when to begin eating, how to pass condiments and other shared items, Serving yourself versus serving others, what to do with your personal items, holding & using eating & drinking utensils, (including chopsticks), understanding your place setting, what is yours and what is your neighbour’s, using your napkin, how to eat bread and spoon soup, toasting and conversations with other diners, how to relate to the waiters and servers, appropriate conversations, including the best time to discuss business, and so much more.
